Do you often feel like you have no mood to complete your tasks on hand? Feeling unproductive? Often distracted?

With the large amount of exciting content online, it is easy to get side tracked! A single click might lead you down a rabbit hole of Youtube videos, leaving you to complete your work at the very last minute. Not only is this extremely stressful, the quality of your work suffers as well.

In this blog, we will be introducing 5 productivity apps for those days when you are just not feeling motivated:

1. Beeminder

Beeminder is an application that pressures you, the user, to make a monetary pledge to achieve your goals. For example, you can pledge $5 to promise that you’ll finish a certain task. You will then report your progress on the app. If you fall behind or fail to complete your task, the app will charge you the amount you have pledged. Beeminder helps people to stay motivated by using a monetary contract, helping the users stick to their goals and tasks.

2. Do It Now

Research has shown that gamification helps people to concentrate better on tasks and stimulates their brains, Do It Now utilises gamification to motivate users to complete their tasks. This task planner uses a virtual character to make a list of boring tasks. After the user completes them in real life, the virtual character levels up, allowing users to track their real-life progress.

3. SuperBetter

Another application that uses gamification is SuperBetter. SuperBetter teaches players how to be cheerful and resilient in the face of adversity. There are pre-installed adventures to choose from, as well as the option to create your own. The problems and struggles you face in real life are portrayed as “bad guys”, while your everyday efforts to finish tasks aid you in getting rewards and power-ups to fight these bad guys. Moreover, this application allows you to invite your friends, known as "Allies," to cheer you on!

4. Productivity Challenge Timer

Productivity Challenge Time is an application that uses a Pomodoro timer. It aims to help users concentrate and focus better. It divides tasks you need to complete into smaller parts and reminds you to take a little break after finishing each part. This application encourages users to maintain their progress as their ranking in the application will be affected accordingly.

5. Brain.FM

Experts say music helps enhance focus and relaxation. Brain.fm creates music that is specifically designed to influence user behavior. It helps users achieve desirable mental states and concentrate better. With music that fades into the background, users can focus better while working.
